FAQs

We Prioritize Safety

We hope you join us for the music, the art, to support the artists we present, and to experience a liberated, inclusive environment for all.

To cultivate a space centered on music, movement, and presence, everyone who enters agrees to honor this intention.

At Becoming, your safety and well-being come first.

If you have a question, need support, or simply feel off, speak with any staff member. We’re here for you.

We do not tolerate behavior that is unsafe, discriminatory, aggressive, or disruptive. This includes intoxication, offensive language, harassment, or any actions that impact others’ ability to enjoy the experience.
By entering a Becoming event, you agree to be respectful, responsible, and kind. Let’s co-create a space where everyone feels free to move, express, and become.

NYC Nightlife Party Safety Tips

  • Always share your location with someone you trust and tell them who you are with.
  • Carry a valid ID to verify your age and for safety. NYS Law requires all individuals to be 21+ to purchase alcohol.
  • Know your limit. Don’t drink alcohol excessively and stay hydrated.
  • Have a designated driver. Plan ahead for a safe ride home if you plan on being under the influence.
  • Never leave drinks unattended or take drinks from strangers.
  • Watch your belongings. Use coat check if available to reduce theft.
  • Beware of scammers. Never hand your phone to strangers.
  • Limit social media. Wait until you’re home to post pictures or videos.
  • Watch out for pickpockets. Keep your belongings like phones, wallets, jewelry secure.
  • Protect your ears. Use hearing protection if necessary. Earplugs can reduce harmful noises while still allowing you to enjoy conversations and sounds, especially at concerts.
  • Prevent an overdose. Check for fentanyl in drugs with fentanyl test strips and carry naloxone.
  • Get and give consent for any sexual interactions. Use protection to prevent the spread of STIs.
  • Be a good bystander. If you witness harassment, intervene if you can or call for help.
  • Stay cool. If trouble arises, ask staff or security for help de-escalate the situation.
Charge your phone and carry a charger.
  • Be aware of your surroundings. Know where exits are in case of an emergency.
  • Stick together. Stay with friends and check in if you separate.
  • Have a travel plan to get home safe. Never leave with a stranger without telling someone you know.
  • Avoid walking alone, especially on secluded, dark streets or when visiting ATM machines.
  • Respect the community. Be mindful when leaving the venue, use restrooms before exiting, keep it quiet, and don’t litter.
  • Check license plates on your for-hire vehicle before you get in and only use Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC)-licensed taxis.
Have fun – it’s good for your health!
